Candle Care

To get the best performance, fragrance throw and burn life from your Haboo at Home candle, please follow the care and safety recommendations below.

Before Lighting

  • Always trim wicks to approximately 5mm before each burn.

  • Place candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

  • Ensure the candle is free from dust, wick trimmings and other debris before lighting.

  • Keep away from drafts, open windows, fans and air conditioning vents.

First Burn Matters

The first burn is important in helping your candle burn evenly.

Allow the wax melt pool to reach close to the edge of the jar during the first burn. This usually takes around 2–4 hours depending on candle size.

Extinguishing the candle too early may cause tunnelling, where wax remains around the edges of the jar.

Burn Time Recommendations

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Allow the candle to cool completely before relighting.

  • Discontinue use when approximately 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.

Wick Care

  • Keep wicks trimmed to 5mm before each burn.

  • If the flame becomes too large, flickers excessively or produces smoke, extinguish the candle, allow it to cool, trim the wick and relight.

  • Do not allow wick trimmings or matches to remain in the wax.

Candle Safety

Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury or smoke damage.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep away from children and pets.

  • Never move a burning candle.

  • Do not burn near flammable materials.

  • Keep candles at least 10cm apart when burning multiple candles.

  • Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.

  • Container may become hot during use.

  • Extinguish candle if the flame becomes too high or the candle begins to smoke excessively.

Natural Wax Information

Soy wax is a natural product and may occasionally develop slight frosting, surface texture changes or minor colour variations. These are normal characteristics of natural wax and do not affect candle performance.

Storage

To preserve fragrance quality and wax appearance:

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

  • Keep candle covered when not in use to protect from dust and maintain fragrance quality.
